Other/ Mobile Simulation


A Flash simulation of a child's mobile. Drag the components and hook them together to make a mobile. Depending on the weights you attach, the mobile will move realistically to the correct position.






I achieved the nice realistic look by using damped sinusoidal motion, so the hangers bounce a little before settling down.

The information panel shows the data for each component for debugging purposes. The 'depth' down the tree structre is used in the code to update the weights and positions correctly - weights are calculated going upwards and positions going downwards. The depths are changed each time you hook or unhook a component.
